Dear Kate,
With a new coat of semi-gloss I do my best to cover my cracked and peeling past. At first the bright white covers easily over the blue and the scars and the stains and the kisses. But just like all the other times, once the white dries, it's the kisses that always seem to show through. The oldest kisses. The kisses that I thought I had painted over long ago are always the first to reappear through my best intentions.
