"Not Yet Ready (Lucy Waiting Outside)"
The Belmont Drawing Group meets Thursday evenings from 7:00 til 9:00 at 106-C Goodman Street for basic open figure drawing sessions: there's no instruction, no expectations, no frills, no props, no music. Just show up and practice drawing the nude figure for a couple of hours. Sessions are small, relaxed, and supportive, and there's an emphasis on composition, angles, and lighting. Models vary in age, size, ethnicity, and gender. Format varies week to week: we usually begin with 4-6 90-second gesture poses, followed by longer poses, but we vary the length of the longer poses from week to week. Cost for the session is $10, chairs are provided, otherwise bring your own materials.
Because of space limitations, sessions are now open only to the first five artists who show up on a given Thursday. We rarely have more than that anyway, but on occasions when we do have 5 artists show up, I put a sign on the door saying the session is full and please try back next week.
I try to keep this page updated with dates and formats of upcoming sessions, and I send out weekly email reminders (see below) as well.
Schedule (formats are tentative, please check back):
Directions to 106-C Goodman Street: Heading towards downtown on Monticello Road in Belmont, turn right on Goodman and go all the way to the end. The studio is in the last building on the right, entrance is on the lower level on the left side of the building, facing the railroad tracks. (See map or street view).

I send out a once-a-week email reminder about the group, along with art news and drawing related links. To add your address to my mailing list, type your email in the box below and click submit.
